Cabinet Covering Tweed Guitar Amp - How to Glue Tolex or Tweed

Описание к видео Cabinet Covering Tweed Guitar Amp - How to Glue Tolex or Tweed

This week in the shop I'm covering a low powered tweed twin cabinet I built. I've got other videos detailing cabinet covering but I thought I'd try again so you could see the process as it unfolds. Things to keep in mind:

Use a new razor blade!

Be aware of the tweed orientation on your cut pieces.

The top and bottom cut pieces need to be perfectly parallel the width of the cabinet opening.

Always use a heat gun to make the white tolex glue turn clear otherwise it won't tack up enough to stick.

When cutting corners I flip the box cutter and use the back side of the blade to press the corner and get my line. Then carefully cut with a SHARP blade.

This took me about an hour but don't feel bad if it takes you longer. Tolex glue can be re-activated with heat. Take your time. That said, the order of operations I use is the most efficient I've found.

Enjoy!
