Описание к видео WW2: Fight Fascism Abroad, Enforce Fascism at Home | History For Sleep

💣 World War II is remembered as “the good war,” but in this episode, history is told from a different angle—the one found far from victory speeches and patriotic headlines.

We question whether the war truly served the people, revealing a home front still fractured by racial inequality, labor strikes, censorship, and economic injustice, even as the U.S. fought fascism overseas. This episode explores how wartime nationalism pushed unity, while dissenters, workers, women, and people of color continued fighting for basic rights at home.

One of the most unforgettable moments highlighted in this era is the Bonus Army tragedy (1932) still echoing in public memory, the treatment of Black soldiers facing segregation, Japanese Americans who were sent to concentration camps, and workers who demanded fair conditions despite wartime pressure to stay silent.

Ordinary Americans carried the war on their backs—in factories, in segregated units, and in suppressed protests—while political and economic power grew stronger through conflict. It’s a story of sacrifice without equality, unity without justice, and heroism written by the people, not the state.

⚠️ This episode forces a powerful question:
Was it a people’s war… or a war powered by the people?

This is part 17 of a 25 part series we will be uploading to give you the entire true history of America that few are aware of. Every historical event we discuss has quotes from the actual sources of the time period.
