Former Bonanno crime family member Dominick Cicale shared chilling details about his initiation into organized crime—his first sanctioned murder. Cicale confessed to the killing of Frank Santoro, a man associated with the Genovese crime family and a long-time friend of his father. The motive behind the hit was shockingly trivial: a joke. Santoro made an offhand comment about kidnapping a mobster’s son for ransom while intoxicated, which reached the ears of Vinnie, a high-ranking Bonanno member.
