Hi, I am Nick Morton, CIO at Resonant.
Resonant is a dedicated SMA asset manager made up of seasoned institutional investment professionals that have direct experience as fund managers or market analysts, not just fund researchers . We also utilise our institutional investment expertise to employ a Total Portfolio Approach, calibrating the overall portfolio to the prevailing market conditions, rather than relying on a siloed “fund of funds” approach to generate outperformance. We have been successfully managing SMAs since 2016 using portfolio construction processes we have developed over our two decades in the industry, that have been utilised at top institutions.

Unlike many of our competitors, who come from a funds rating or asset allocator background, the Resonant investment team all have significant institutional direct market expertise, having worked as Portfolio Managers, Traders and Analysts at local and global asset managers, investment banks and hedge funds. We are more than fund researchers. Additionally, our team has extensive quantitative expertise that has allowed us to build comprehensive systems designed specifically for the Australian Managed Account space. This helps us to deliver the business scalability and efficiency benefits that SMAs can deliver when done correctly. Finally, Resonant has truly taken the time to understand the advice landscape and the needs of advice practices and their retail clients. We see ourselves very much as our clients’ outsourced investment team, rather than an external consultant.
