Mackerel Islands Offshore Fishing

We headed out from Onslow, Western Australia, to fish the beautiful but remote Mackerel Islands, and it turned into a wild day on the water.

The weather was rough, the sharks were thick, and it didn’t take long before they bit a massive coral trout clean in half. We lost gear, broke a reel, and pulled in more pesky trevally than we bargained for, but still came home with a solid feed, including two nice Rankin cods in the esky.
