In a clear message on political defections, Goa Forward Party (GFP) leader Vijai Sardesai stated that the party is firmly against defection. Addressing recent developments, he said that Isidore Fernandes has been brought into GFP to ensure the victory of Prashant Naik.
“As and when an alliance is formed and discussions take place, we will clarify our position. We cannot be doing ‘tu-tu, mei-mei’ at press conferences,” Sardesai added, responding to remarks from the RGP.
Meanwhile, the Congress party has also emphasized its strict stance on defections. Leader of the Opposition Yuri Alemao said, “Congress will not tolerate any defectors, especially when we are fighting against them in court. Defection is something our party has consistently fought against. Our leader, Rahul Gandhi, has emphasized that defection must be stopped. These defectors should never be taken back.”

It may be recalled that RGP has given 2 days time to both the alliance partners to clear their stand on Defectors
