I was afraid my son would become a beggar-mumbi ndung'u | Tuko TV
When Mumbi Ndun'gu gave birth to her son 21 years ago, she was the happiest woman in the world. She however grew worried when the nurses told her that her baby would not be presented to her until her mum or any other support system was by her side. Finally, when Brian was presented to her, she says he had this glitter on his face she has never forgotten to date. On uncovering her son, it's when she realized he had no arms and one of his legs was shorter than the other. Tears freely flowed down her cheeks as her parents comforted her.

For years, Mumbi kept asking God why he had given her a son who was abled differently. Many times she faced ridicule from people, others claiming that she had been using drugs while some insinuated that she was cursed. Brian was not accepted in schools, but thanks to one head teacher who gave him a chance he was able to start his schooling life and recently graduated with a diploma in In Journalism and Mass communication, having attended no special school at all.

The multi-talented Brian has grown to be the biggest source of inspiration for his mum. He is able to write and draw incredible paintings using his feet, he is also a singer, a motivational speaker as well as a great swimmer. Brian, visibly joyous cannot thank his mother enough for always being by his side.

Brian who has been nominated to be the East African LG ambassador, wishes that his dad was there to at least share in the strides he has made this far in life.
