Model Lungs

In today’s experiment we have one of our volunteers, Hayeon, show us how to make model lungs. This experiment will help us gain a better understanding of how our lungs work. We will learn about the process of inhalation and exhalation, the organs that are involved, and the process of simple diffusion. For this experiment you’ll need plasticine or clay, 3 balloons, tape, an exacto knife (to cut the plastic bottle), 2 straws, 1 plastic bottle (preferably narrow), and a pencil.
