“It’s Friday! Time for another weekly update.

Welcome to Autumn. The first day of Fall was September 22nd. Autumn is my favorite time of year as football season kicks into high gear, Halloween is around the corner, and, most importantly, the temperatures drop and we have crisp mornings and nights.

This week, I read to students at Brickey-McCloud Elementary School and Bonny Kate Elementary. I was also on the Kennedy Show on Fox Business, and today I joined the hardworking folks at Engineering and Public Works for lunch.

We also announced a partnership with the Mental Health Association of East Tennessee to compile an annual report on the state of mental health in Knox County. The findings of this report will be a vital tool to help guide us in decision making and planning for the future.

The University of Tennessee football team has their first away game of the year at Florida. Go Vols!

This week’s Eat & Greet was at Soul Good on University Avenue. Next Tuesday, I’ll be at South Coast Pizza at 11:30. Please join me.
