The Mackintosh House

This short film tells the story of the Mackintosh House, the Glasgow home of Scottish architect, artist and designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh (1868-1928) and artist Margaret Macdonald Mackintosh (1864-1933). The Mackintosh House forms an integral part of the Hunterian Art Gallery at the University of Glasgow. It is a meticulous reassemblage of the principal interiors from 78 Southpark Avenue (originally 6 Florentine Terrace), where the Mackintoshes lived from 1906 to 1914.

The film has been made as part of a Museums Galleries Scotland-funded project to create a new interpretation space to introduce visitors to the Mackintosh House at The Hunterian.
