This was not a video I expected to be posting this week. Racism is pervasive throughout the world and can be an uncomfortable topic especially for people who live a priveledged life (like me) and / or are not confronted with racism (either structural or overt) every day.

Even though my platform might be small, I wanted to take this moment to address this incredibly important topic and start an open discussion about the ways that our political, economic, and other public institutions are failing POC. In this video I discuss the history of racism in the US and Germany, how this history has manifested into the racism we see today, the language we use that promotes racist ideology, and my own personal experiences with racism.

With this video, I hope to start an honest dialogue and speak about my own experiences in an educational and thoughtful way. My own lived experiences as a white-skinned half-Asian American women are singular to myself and I do not wish to take away or diminish the experiences of POC in the US or Germany.
