Plot & preview geotagged photos in QGIS

Описание к видео Plot & preview geotagged photos in QGIS

When you take a picture on your phone while the location feature is enabled, you would get a picture with coordinates written in the metadata. This is called geotagged picture. A geotagged picture can be used to:
1) Locate where a picture was taken
2) Link the picture of the field with earth observation data e.g. satellite images or maps e.g. land cover
3) By doing so, the geotagged picture taken in the field can act as reference data for manual and automated interpretation of satellite images or evaluating map accuracy.

To do any of the tasks above, you can import geotagged pictures to free and open-source GIS software such as QGIS. QGIS would store the pictures with coordinates as point features and attach the photos in your project. In addition, you can casually view a photos by clicking a point.

All you need is the Import Photos plugin. And this video shows you how to use it.
