Infosys has signed a $2bn deal to deliver artificial intelligence and automation services over the next five years.

Since the powerful chatbot ChatGPT was unveiled in November last year,IT market has shifted to embrace generative AI. Companies like Microsoft, Google and Salesforce have integrated the technology into their product ranges

Microsoft is incorporating a ChatGPT-style assistant to all of its Office apps, including Word, Teams, and Outlook, and invested in OpenAI, the generative chatbot maker.In February it revealed a new Bing search engine powered by chatbot technology, gaining against rival Google.

Four of the most influential companies in artificial intelligence have announced the formation of an industry body to oversee safe development of the most advanced models.

The Frontier Model Forum has been formed by the ChatGPT developer OpenAI, Anthropic, Microsoft and Google, the owner of the UK-based DeepMind.

The group said it would focus on the “safe and responsible” development of frontier AI models, referring to AI technology even more advanced than the examples available currently.

In fact, Last week, Wipro announced a major investment in generative AI, including an estimated $1bn spend on the technology over the next three years.

Tata Consulting Services says it already has 50,000 AI-trained associates and half of those will be trained specifically on the OpenAI products

GlobalData predicts the the AI market will grow from $81bn in 2022 to $909bn by 2030,
