Drivewyze PreClear - How does a weigh station bypass work?

Drivewyze is a connected truck software platform integrated into in-cab devices, such as ELD’s, Smartphones, and tablets. No transponder is required. The Drivewyze PreClear service is North America’s largest bypass service, that lets drivers and carriers legally bypass inspection sites, saving them time and money.

A bypass is when a commercial vehicle does not need to pull-in or stop at a weigh station or inspection site. Not having to pull in, the driver can continue on their way. When a driver approaches an inspection site, the Drivewyze service will communicate with the site to determine if the driver can bypass.

Bypass instructions are based on many factors, including a carrier’s ISS Score, License Plate, Vehicle Identification Number, and USDOT. Driver information such as Hours of Service, medical records, and CDL remains private and cannot be accessed by Drivewyze.

Carriers can expect a bypass instruction up to 98% of the time and all bypasses are 100% legal.
