Bass flute by João Liberato, Prelude of J. S. Bach cello suite n.1, BWV 1007

The Prelude from Suite No. 1 by J. S. Bach is one of the pieces that I am fortunate to play on the bass flute. I need to thank Federal University of Sergipe, the institution where I have been working for 16 years, that allowed me to spend 3 months immersed in this instrument, just playing and researching. One of the results is a sequence of 13 videos, with two complete suites by J. S. Bach (BWV 1007 and BWV 1013) and a piece by a Brazilian composer (Piá, by Marcus Ferrer). In addition to thanking the university where I work, I must also thank the suggestions of the great flutists and colleagues Lucas Robatto (Federal University of Bahia) and Anders Ljungar Chapelon (Malmö Academy of Music). The bass flute has very specific complexities, both for playing and recording, this project is an initiative to experiment and try to expand possibilities with the instrument.
