Moore's Non Leakable Safety - this one was a bit of a mess!

Delving again into the world of safety fountain pens. This is one of the iconic safety fountain pens, the Moore non-leasable. I'd seen them around forever and was always a bit hesitant to dive into them. However, once you see one taken apart and can get over the fear of heating, pushing, pulling hard rubber (always afraid they will break/crack) these aren't that daunting. For this repair all I really needed was a bit of cork and something to cut it down with (i used a micro saw but an exacto blade or single edged razor probably would have worked), a bit of sand paper, a small amount of mineral oil, and a small drill set. Luckily the usual polishes (Novus and simichrome) removed a lot of the surface oxidation and made the pen look amazing.

There were some learning points in this video for me. I had to be a bit aggressive on the feed for this pen. After the video i did go back and do some more feed adjustments with hot water. I do believe I've gotten it to a very nice point now. Additionally, maybe its the india ink setting into the cork seal, but I haven't noted any ink on the bottom of the rod anymore. I do intend to try it out with some modern fountain pen ink and see how it goes, but as of now the cork is still the one I placed in the video.

One thing I will say about india ink in this particular pen - it does dry quickly. I routinely have to rewet the nib if I briefly pause in writing. I wonder if the in channel in the feed were maybe a bit larger this would create more flow and decrease this?

Happy to get any feedback from viewers about these pens, what they've seen, if there is anything I should do differently.
