For this upcycling project I used the following used/old materials:
a mahogany stairstep for the guitar body
a one piece maple neck from an old Jack&Danny Strat with nice flame structure
two Ibanez vintage humbuckers V1 und V2 which I got from a friend for a repair on his Gibson L5
an old Hopf floating bridge from the mid 1960ies from my stock
a metal plate for the neck plate and four screws also from my stock
a 22nF condensator from my stock for the tone pot
a 200pF condensator from my stock for the volume pot

New materials:
a set of six tuners in a row
three chrome knobs
two 200 Kohm pots
one mini multiswitch
six eyelet sleeves
two chrome strap buttons (not yet shown in the video)
6,3mm plugin socket

My intention was to keep the guitar as simple as possible. So I tried a design with no cutouts for the PUs; a really rocksteady solution. Furthermore I took a floating bridge instead of a stop tailpiece to keep the top of the guitar untouched. And I decided not to build a pickguard. This allowed me to minimized also the colours:
chrome/silver for Knobs, tuners, bridge, strap buttons, frets and strings
black: pickups and neckplate
and other parts are in natural wood colour

Imho the linseed oil finish was the best choice I could make. It brings out the structure of the mahogany and the maple in an unsurpassed way.

Electronics ( from left to right as seen from the players position):
volume knob
Mini-Multiswitch
tone knob
The multiswitch acts as follows:
pos1: neck PU humbucker
pos2: neck PU splitted (single coil)
pos3: bridge PU humbucker
pos4: bridge PU splitted (single coil)
pos5: neck + bridge humbucker
pos6: neck + bridge single coil
I tried also other combinations but with no significant changes in sound.
The PUs are held on place only by the frames and double-sided tape.
At last I´m planning to replace the cheap plastic saddle by an also selfmade carbon saddle.
