Is Jomtien a good place to live? Does Jomtien Beach offer expats enough to retire in Thailand?

I've stayed in Pattaya for 9 nights now. Spent an hour each morning walking along Beach Road which is a great start to the day. I was about to head straight to Bangkok, but decided instead to head to Jomtien Beach where a lot of expats choose to retire. Could I live here?

Is Thailand a good country for expats to live or retire to? Is Pattaya a good place to live? Low cost of living, diversity, culture, weather, food and scenery entice foreigners to live in Thailand. Pattaya is a great spot by the sea. Thailand is regarded as the "land of smiles" with Thais being welcome and warm people. Could you live here?
