Richard Levine and his old colleague, Martin Guitierrez, headed to the discovery of an aberrant form found on the beach coast and wanted to examen it before been destroyed by the Costa Rican government.
Easter Egg 2: John Roxton is one of the original characters from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle The Lost World Novel 1912 as a British hunter. In Michael Crichton’s The Lost World, John Roxton is a paleontologist who studies tyrannosaur and theories it had a similar visual system like a frog, losing its prey if it stood still. His name is mention in three chapters: Aberrant Forms, Nest 3 and Decision.

Marty decides to tell Levine the truth, and insists it be held in strict confidence. He tells Levine that the unidentified animal carcasses have become a large problem over the past several years and that five years ago a group of animals was discovered in the mountains near a remote agricultural site that was developing test varieties of soy beans which is why the Costa Rican government is being so secretive, and Marty admits that the government is afraid of disease. Costa Rican epidemiologists have been tracking a new type of encephalitis on the coast and suspect that it might be related to the aberrant forms, and since Costa Rica is heavily dependent on tourism it doesn't want to scare people away. After they say farewell to each other, Richard Levine heads to the departure to catch his flight to San Francisco.

After a lecture from Richard Levine's recorder, the school bell ranged, Kelly Curtis and Arby Benton decide to visit Dr. Thorne's workshop.
Interesting Fact: In the novel, Kelly Curtis is not Ian Malcolm’s daughter, and Arby Benton is also a character that was never featured in the movie.

Malcolm visits an old colleague, Elizabeth Gelman, to understand more regarding the specimen Richard Levine sent him from Costa Rica.

After leaving school, Arby and Kelly go to visit Dr. Jack Thorne, a retired applied engineering professor and owner of ‘Thorne Mobile Field System,’ was hired by Levine to outfit his expedition to Costa Rica by creating and furnishing specialized vehicles and equipment. As Kelly and Arby make their way across the workshop floor, they see a Ford Explorer being modified with solar panels and an electric power source as well as two huge trailers connected via an accordion connector.
Easter Egg 3: The Mobile RV Lab which the expedition drive is called "Challenger" named after Professor George Challenger, leader of the expedition from the original The Lost World novel 1912.
Surprising Fact: Dr. Jack Thorne is actually based on the best know paleontologist in the united states, Dr. Jack Horner.
