How to Host or Migrate WordPress Website to Amazon Lightsail | AWS WordPress Setup

Описание к видео How to Host or Migrate WordPress Website to Amazon Lightsail | AWS WordPress Setup

Amazon Lightsail provides WordPress instances where you can create a new WordPress website or transfer an existing WordPress website.
In this video, I have explained the complete steps.

Lightsail instances have fixed prices. You can select an instance according to your requirements.

Let me describe the process here:
Create a new WordPress instance on Amazon Lightsail.
You must get a static IP for the instance. Because if you reboot the instance, you will lose the IP, and your domain will not work anymore.

When the instance is ready, you can log in to the WordPress admin using the IP until you point the domain to the instance.

Since I have transferred an existing website, I have created a backup of the website, and then I pointed the domain to the Lightsail instance IP.
The IP propagation can take a few minutes. Wait until you can visit the website with the domain.

Now create the SSL certificate. The SSL certificate is free by 'Let's Encrypt.'
Make sure to follow the steps correctly. The certificate renews automatically every month.

You should change the WordPress URLs to the HTTPS version. Log in to Cloudshell and edit the WP Config file using the Vim editor, following the process in the video.

You may need to increase the file upload limit if you transfer an existing website. For that, you need to update the php.ini file. I have explained this process in the video.

After updating the file, reboot the instance and log in to the WP Admin to upload the backup.

Cloud shell Commands:
Command to apply SSL: sudo /opt/bitnami/bncert-tool
Open the Bitnami Directory: cd /opt/bitnami/
Check file upload limit: php -i |egrep 'upload_max_filesize|post_max_size'
Update file upload limit: sudo vi +/upload_max_filesize /opt/bitnami/php/etc/php.ini
