Htown Players Instrumental Skateboards 2001

It was the end of the 90s and we had survived Y2K. Things were still being filmed on mini DV tapes and the aspect ratio was 4:3. Htown Players was a way to bring everyone in on the project. Instrumental Skateboards was a skateboard company done by the homies for the homies and we were all learning how to source products for the first time. We all just loved skateboarding so much and wanted the best for everyone around us. We made this video to show the skateboarding talent of our friends in an effort to get them hooked up and sponsored. Many of those in this video went on to have careers in skateboarding. Various durations and a variety of success levels were experienced by many. We are happy to have participated and chosen to document the skateboarding in this project. It is really great to have something to look back on and remind us of who we were and what life was like essentially 20 years ago here in our skateboarding scene in Houston, Texas.
