Описание к видео National Guard Products OV634A Bristle Door Sweep

Please find this product at http://absupply.net/
This video is to bring you a closer look at the National Guard Products OV634A. This is a, it is a piece of bristle seal most commonly used as a door sweep obviously. It can certainly be used as an astragal or maybe in other instances where you simply need to seal something and a straight profile like the OV634 offers. A door sweep is really where you are going to see this. It’s relatively inexpensive, a very nice quality fit and finish. The "A" in the part number means, well the OV634 is representative of this profile, a nylon bristle with an aluminum holder. The "A" means that it is in the clear aluminum finish and this happens to be just a 12" sample. Screws are included in a complementary finish. As a door sweep, people like bristle and it is because bristle has an excellent way to accommodate a irregular floor surface. My finger represents an irregular floor surface and you can see how the bristle contours around my fingers whereas a piece of vinyl or silicone or neoprene would certainly not contour to an irregular surface. The truth of the matter is people who are in the restaurant industry are often inspected and the inspectors are specifically looking for daylight under the door. Bristle seals really do a great job at keeping out the daylight, which means it keeps out the critters, and that is the logic. Also, bristle gives less of an amount of obstacle to a hydraulic door closer getting the door sealed closed or if you had an 1/8" thick piece of neoprene a door closer might have a problem with it. So you have this balancing act of getting the door actually to latch with a door closer but getting an effective seal. Bristle has a way of riding a balance between those two needs. They do fatigue, they will curl up over time but this as in anything will fatigue and need to be replaced. Dimensionally, there is an image below this video showing everything important about the item. Lets go over it now. You can see that the overall height of the aluminum extrusion is about 11/16" although they are calling it 5/8". 3/4" on the bristle so you have about an 1-3/8" overall, an 1-7/16". A typical sort of thickness used on this sort of material. It is going to be available in the dark bronze finish as well. Important to know that this is available in several different lengths on the website so if you have need for a custom length, by all means let us know by ordering the next longest piece or pieces and indicate in the comment field what length you would like for us to cut the material back to. Imagine that this is a 3' long piece and you had to cut it down to 34", you would likely eliminate that first slotted hole that is in the end and you are stuck with the next one being all the way over here and drilling a new hole. It is nice to have those slotted holes from the factory because they allow you to tailor that sweep or as an astragal to an irregular or uneven or a floor sill condition that is not level, a door that is not plumb, or a pair of doors that are certainly not plumb. Having those slotted holes will also help compensate for a miss drilled hole. When you are pre-drilling the screw holes for the screws, the drill bit has a tendency to walk a little bit before it pierces through into the door whether it is aluminum, wood, stainless steel, fiberglass, brass, bronze, or whatever the door is made of. So that slotted hole is really handy to have there. It could make the difference between it working and it not. If you have a need for a custom length, by all means let us know by ordering the next longest piece or pieces and indicate that net length in the comment field and that is how we would know how to ship it out. National Guard is a comprehensive manufacturer of all things weather-stripping related and the fact of the matter is also this. Their name is synonymous with weather-stripping. If you find yourself exposed to needing weather-stripping more then just one time, by all means familiarize yourself with their product catalog which can be linked to below this video. If you have any questions on the National Guard OV634A Bristle Style Sweep or Astragal or Gasketing or any other National Guard product please feel free to reach out to us. Thank you.
