Oxygen is a film with familiar elements; one character trapped in one place, entertaining but overdone. This movie has been expertly crafted by Alexandre Aja, featuring Melanie Laurent as Liz, who is trapped in a cryogenic chamber with rapidly depleting oxygen, with little more than an hour to figure out who she is, why she is there, and how she can escape.
Assisted by a charisma-devoted AI and a few calls, she tries to piece together a puzzle that keeps adding concept after concept, twist upon twist.
Sadly, despite a beautiful performance, clever cinematography and strong sound design, the film lacks to strike an emotional connection and ultimately does something we have seen done before, without standing out.

Alexandre Aja somehow finds ways of shooting this movie that keep you engaged and the multiple twists (though almost all of them are foreshadowed way too obviously) do encourage you to finish watching this film. With great elements, it is sad that this film was not as interesting as Moon, Buried, or Locke.
