Описание к видео JACKSON PARK RIDE: 63rd Street Beach to Garden of the Phoenix [4K]

May 12, 2021 - A ride through Jackson Park from 63rd Street Beach on the Chicago Lakefront to the Garden of the Phoenix. The ride passes by the Statue of the Republic, a bronze sculpture built in 1918 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair as well as Illinois’ statehood centennial. The sculpture is a smaller-scale replica of an original that adorned the World’s Fair, but was destroyed by a fire. The ride continues on to the Wooded Island before passing by the Sky Landing Sculpture by Yoko Ono. From there I dismounted from my bicycle and walked through the Garden of the Phoenix, a Japanese Garden built for the same 1893 World’s Fair. The garden is one of the most beautiful and unique places in Chicago, however bicycles are not allowed inside, but there is ample bicycle parking outside.
