Описание к видео Trains at: Bushey, WCML, 24/10/2020

A very cold, wet, windy but enjoyable morning spent at Bushey on the West Coast Mainline where we see plenty of services from Avanti West Coast, London Northwestern Railway, Southern, London Overground and freight from DB Cargo UK, DRS, GBRF and Rail Operations Group.

Bushey was built by the London and Birmingham Railway sometime around the late 1800's, the line through Bushey was opened in 1837 by there wasn't the need for a station there because back then the area was so sparsely populated. Of course in later years that did change with people wanting to move out of the city and into the country. And since then London and the surrounding areas have continued to grow.

There isn't to much to tell overall about Bushey as a station, however during WW2 a small concrete pillbox was built under the viaduct at the northern end of the station to hold off enemy troops in the event of an invasion.

My next film is going to be Carpenders Park just down the line.
