Hi! now it`s time to move on and here is next such a great rock band from finland. peer gynt got it`s name from a flower shop brochure in the gloce box of singer- quitarist timo nikki`s car. nikki founded the first version of peer gynt in 1976 . the most significant turning point`s in the band`s career can be founded as drummer teijo "twist twist" erkinharju joining the band in 1981 and bassist teijo "tzöötz" kettula joining in 1983, when peer gynt`s longest-lasting, so-called classic line-up was born. the group was at the peak of its popularity in the later half onf the 80`s, when the three albums that followed the debut album peer gynt in 1985, backseat in 1986, good girls don`t...in 1987 and fire wire in 1988 each sold gold and reached the first place in the offical finnish album chart. in 2005 singer timo nikki announced that the band would end its activities. the reason for the break-up was started by nikki as the indifference on the other members . in 2006 nikki brought the band back to the performance stages with a renewed line-up. in the fall of 2016, peer gynt celebrated 40 years with a club tour in finland. today bamd gigs seasonally, focusing mostly on touring festivals and the biggest rock clubs.
