The Biomaker Challenge is run annually to encourage, support and fund small interdisciplinary teams of researchers to develop projects and prototypes at the intersection of biology, engineering and computer science.

The 2021 Challenge “Exploring Plants, Soil and the Environment” will support teams to develop hardware and/or software projects in 3 categories:
-- Sensors, field communication and machine learning for environmental survey and monitoring.
-- Measurement and control of plant growth in science, agriculture and gardening.
-- Electronic and biological sensors for management of soil health.

This is briefing is taken from a recording of the Biomaker 2020/21 Final Showcase event held on 19th October 2021.

The deadline for submissions to the 2021 Biomaker Challenge is 15th November 2021.
