Journey to Doubtful Sound - New Zealand's Most Epic Fjord | Cinematic Film

The journey to Doubtful Sound in the far south west corner of New Zealand is all part of the experience.

First, an epic boat ride across Lake Manapouri leads you past the jagged peaks of the Kepler and Hunter Ranges.

Wild weather can make this experience quite dramatic, with light rays canvasing the distance summits, and rainbows darting across the landscape.

After you arrive at the southern end of the lake, you board a bus that takes you on a 40 minute drive over Wilmot Pass - the most expensive road in the New Zealand.

The views from Wilmot Pass are absolutely incredible, and offer your first views of Doubtful Sound below. Probably one of the finest views in Fiordland.

Finally, a few hours into your journey, you're dropped off at the shores of Deep Cove, board a boat, and spend the next three hours cruising the magnificent beauty of Doubtful Sound.

This was one of my favorite experiences I've ever had while in New Zealand, and I found it to be much more fascinating than the cruise out Milford Sound.
