After a lifetime of digestive problems, Shivan Sarna was diagnosed with Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth in 2015. She was so excited to finally have a name for the symptoms that made me miserable – but I was quickly very frustrated by how hard it was to get access to reliable SIBO information or even an appointment with a doctor who had experience treating SIBO. I set out to get answers about SIBO for myself – but along the way, I met hundreds (and then thousands) of other people like you who had the same problems: How do we find experts who really understand SIBO? About Dr. Ami Kapadia:
Dr. Kapadia completed her medical school education at Jefferson Medical College and her residency training in family medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. She has been studying integrative, holistic, environmental, and functional medicine for the past 15 years. She has pursued training through the Institute for Functional Medicine and The American Academy of Environmental Medicine and is certified by the American Board of Integrative and Holistic Medicine (ABIHM). She has worked with patients from diverse backgrounds at inner-city clinics, Veterans’ hospitals, and urgent care clinics. She currently sees patients at Kwan Yin Healing Arts Center in Portland Oregon where she combines western and functional medicine diagnostics with traditional and complementary therapies to help patients reach their health goals.
