LOGIC PRO X - Parallel Distortion and Producer Kits

Описание к видео LOGIC PRO X - Parallel Distortion and Producer Kits

Following on from last week's video, Jono is now exploring parallel distortion in a different context. Whereas last week's video explored options in an EDM production, here we're seeing what a distortion channel can bring to a multitrack acoustic drum mix. Engineers will often rig up a microphone channel which is designed to bring a 'trashy' flavour to their otherwise pristine drum microphone choices; one extra channel on the desk with a microphone which overloads in musically interesting ways. At the mix stage, this microphone can be teased into the mix at low (or high!) level to bring a distortion flavour to the mix. In a virtual drum mix, like those created using Logic's Drummer instrument, we can explore parallel distortion in all kinds of ways, whether that means reaching for one of Logic's Stompboxes, or swapping a regular kit for a Producer Kit, which offers parallel disortion via an extended drum mix in a Track Stack. All of these possibilities are explored in this episode.
