Twenty-nine recruits from nine fire departments in Westchester and beyond graduated today from the Westchester County Career Chiefs Fire Academy. Congrats to these new probationary firefighters and best wishes for continued success in the months and years ahead.
DES is proud to host the Career Chiefs Academy and support the training program that fire recruits receive across 20 weeks of rigorous training and instruction. These firefighters are going to work for five departments in Westchester, two in Dutchess, one in Orange and one in Nassau.
The new firefighters were awarded their certificates before a packed house in the Hankin Academic Arts Building auditorium at Westchester Community College.
County Executive George Latimer and DES Deputy Commissioner Susan Spear were among the speakers who congratulated the new firefighters and thanked the leaders and instructors of the Career Chiefs Academy for another great job with Class 02-2023. The commanding officers of the Academy were Captain Joseph Sinatra, New Rochelle FD, and Lt. Dom DiRienzo, Eastchester FD.

Mamaroneck Town: Benjamin Plachta

Peekskill: Darwin Molina, Nicholas Russo
Pelham Manor: Daniel Higgins
Poughkeepsie: Jeffrey Glass, John Ineson, Shane Lawlor, Clint McCoach, Oliverio Rendon-Carlos
White Plains: Domenick DiMiceli, German Garcia, Justin Lee, Hanif Malloy, Salvatore Marchionni, Luke Puff, Eric Terminello, Nicholas Wadden.
