Postcards from Wexford: Anne Sophie Duprels, soprano sends you a greeting from her beautiful garden at her home outside of Paris. Many of you will remember her superb performance in 'Risurrezione' by Franco Alfano in 2017 (Directed by Rosetta Cucchi and conducted by Francesco Cilluffo) which she recently reprised at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. We are delighted that she is returning to Wexford in the autumn, but until then.....a moment of beauty.

Since the world went into lockdown nearly two months ago, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Wexford Festival Opera wanted to reach out to the greater 'Wexford community' and has responded with 'Postcard from Wexford', a series of short videos from various people associated with the Festival, reminding us all of the excitement of getting a postcard delivered to your house from a friend or relative; a little hello; a little 'we're thinking of you' and of course, 'we wish you were here' - or there in Wexford. Together.

Wexford Festival Opera was founded by a GP, a hotelier and a postman from a small, rural coastal town in the southeast of Ireland and inspired a community to support their fantastical idea to present rarely produced operas created and performed by a mixture of Irish and international talent. 69 years later, millions throughout Ireland and the world have experienced the magic of Wexford Festival Opera and now our community is truly global.
