Intro to the Open Compute Project OCP

OCPs mission is to emerge as a pioneer in applying the open source software ethos to cloud data center hardware platforms along with designing and enabling the delivery of the most efficient server, storage and data center hardware designs for scalable computing. There has been growing interest in forward-looking initiatives such as hardware and software co-design and software solutions for broad community collaboration, to accelerate innovation and enable scale through ecosystem adoption. OCP has released manageability standards spanning across diverse IT infrastructure, by referencing existing standards. OCP also strives to accept relevant software contributions that take the form of repositories in OCP Github where the community collaborates iteratively to provide cutting edge solutions.
