Earlier in the day, we hiked down under at the nearby Cedar Falls, and decided to continue our Petit Jean State Park Day along Seven Hollows Trail

Seven Hollows Trail has to be one of the most underrated trails in the entire state. We'd last visited during a deluge in May 2021, and to be fair the fall at the Grotto here does need decent amounts of rain to make it roll.

Still, the bridge, the cave shelters and all the bluff lines make for a way cool adventure time, and one that young explorers would adore.

The sun was now up and out and temps were now tolerable, but again we were just about the only folks on this hike today. We met a follower (Dave) in the parking area, and a couple hiking the opposite direction an hour and a half later - and that was it!

If you venture clockwise like us, the trail varies from flat and easy, to fairly tricky in places before making it back to flat and easy again. There are several shallow creek crossings to make, but most have well placed stepping stones. The Natural Bridge is one of the finest in the state, and the grotto at Seven Hollows Falls is quite magical.

On the back stretch of the hike, there are countless nooks and crannies to explore, plenty of small caves and shelters and several superb rock formations to gawk at as you wander through the little canyons all around you.

Google maps will take you right to the parking spot. Phone signal is poor at best in most areas. Keep that in mind before you go. Download digital maps you may need in advance. If you visit these places, please recreate responsibly. Leave no trace and #packmoreout
