I will try to play through all mainline Pokemon games in order of appearance with some special rules:

I cannot use any Pokemon I used in a previous version. For example, if I use Pidgey in Pokemon Red, I am not allowed to use it again in any other version later
If I have to reuse a Pokemon (e.g. starters), I have to remove this Pokemon from my team as soon as possible. For starter Pokemon, I have to catch the first Pokemon I can that has not been excluded yet and replace the starter Pokemon with it.
Different regional forms are allowed (e.g. Diglett in Red and later Alolan Diglett in Sun)
Different forms of the same Pokemon are not allowed (e.g. Only one Deerling throughout all games)
Partner Pikachu and Partner Eevee count as different Pokemon from Pikachu and Eevee and are, therefore, allowed in their respective games.
A Pokemon counts as used as soon as it participates in any battle or is on the team for an extended period of time (even if it never participated in a fight).


If I remember that I will be forced to use a specific Pokemon in a later game (e.g. Lucario in X/Y), I will try to avoid it before.
