I am an environmental warrior! I am the plant manager at a wastewater treatment plant (sewer) where we take the water that is used and abused everyday and clean it responsibly and return it to the water environment. I manage the operations, laboratory, industrial pretreatment program and the biosolids land application program. We recycle this water back to the environment in a responsible way. Regulated by the EPA and EGLE in the State of Michigan, my operations team (who also work as lab technicians) produces thousands of lab analytical data points to prove clean water practices. I have a fantastic team of operators, mechanics, electricians and sewer cleaners who help to maintain our 9 MGD million gallons per day treatment plant while maintaining over 200 miles of sanitary sewer and 200 miles of storm sewer. We also maintain 43 remote pumping stations that communicate via a radio network to our scada system which we monitor and control the plant with. This is my attempt to educate the public and highlight all the excellent work my crew does for our municipality and how we help to maintain the water quality in the water environment.
