FlossTube #10 / Jane Hattersley . Waffle Stitch Tutorial . Gridding .

Описание к видео FlossTube #10 / Jane Hattersley . Waffle Stitch Tutorial . Gridding .

An update on my Jane Hattersley progress, an introduction to pulled thread with a waffle stitch tutorial, a frank talk about gridding, and a look at the difference between needlework "rules" and needlework "best practices."

PS: For the pulled thread demo, I stitched on 30-count Studio Line linen. The Sea Salt color is a perfect match for the thread I use for stitching which is a linen thread from Londonderry (#5095 Ivory 50/3).

In response to the questions about Hannah's Butter Cookies ... here is the recipe!

Hannah's Butter Cookies
1 pound butter (softened)
5 cups sifted flour
6 egg yolks
2 t. vanilla
½ t. salt
1 ⅓ c. granulated sugar

Preheat oven to 375 degrees (F)
Cream together butter and sugar.
Add salt, vanilla, and egg yolks.
Gradually mix in flour.
Use a cookie press to shape cookies. Optional: sprinkle with colored sugars or sprinkles.
Bake for 6 - 8 minutes just until lightly browned on the bottom.

I split the dough into 3 parts, leaving one as is and adding food coloring to the other two ... one red (to make a pink dough) and one green. I use the cookie press to make spritzes, wreaths, trees, poinsettias, etc.

Enjoy!
