Malta Air (Ryanair) Boeing 737-8AS Manchester to Cologne Bonn | Full Flight

It's not often I get to fly an airline that's not only new to me, but also new to the airline industry itself. Malta Air, the latest airline owned by Ryanair Holdings, recently acquired its first few aircraft that are interestingly based across Germany and France. I assume they will be moved to Malta in due time!

Ray and I found incredibly cheap return fares to Cologne just a week prior, and after securing a decent hotel, we booked. So then on the morning of Wednesday the 10th of July we headed airside to board 9H-QAF, a relatively new frame, for the 1 hour 10 minute flight across to Germany. We pushed back, taxied out to 23L and held short for around 5 minutes before getting airborne. We got some good views of MAN as well as a Qatar 787 heading East. Not long after we began an approach into clear skies, giving fantastic views of Dusseldorf Airport and city as well as the city centre of Cologne. The final approach itself was fairly bumpy with an exceptionally executed landing at the end with rapid braking in part thanks to the aircrafts Short Field Package (Hence the larger ground spoilers). We parked on stand around 10 minutes early and thanks to the efficiency of German public transport, Ray and I were in the city centre roughly 25 minutes later!

So, overall a fantastic flight with Malta Air/Ryanair. Essentially for the time being only the aircraft is Maltese, the crew, onboard service and cabin (with the exception of the safety card) are what you'd find on any Ryanair flight. That being said this flight was fantastic, the Boeing Sky Interior really helps to make the cabin comfortable, the crew were exceptionally friendly and we were early. So top marks for this experience!
