As you might now, and if not by now you know now, I like to make art and more with blender, like this channel intro or the game sabotage on noegato-bas, so I follow what is happening around blender as well as indie games and guess what happened. To improve on the blender to godot pipeline the blender studio made a short game and here I play it it.
It is more about exploration with a bit of a puzzle aspect, and it is fun to play.
We want to build a snowman and need to find a few parts to make it a really good snowman. So explore the place and find the parts and find a way to get to them.
The character are so lovely drawn and animated full of live, as is the world. The developers painted all the assets you see in the game by hand, scanned them and then put them into the game and this works really well, I'd play a point and click in that style as well. Controls took me a while to get into, but not more that a minute and a bit, you can see me struggle and then dash on, you just move the mouse into the direction you want the dog to move to and make sure the boy does not entangle with the environment. It is actually a cool twist to play to dog and not the boy and having to watch out for that, but that is the least tricky part. Navigating the map and finding all places of interest and getting things done is fun. The physics are fun to play around with, it could have been even more, like at least having to navigate the kid and the dog through some moving obstacles or so.
The music is also very cute and very fitting for everything. all in all a fun game, check it out!
