Always use a Food Grade Grease (NSF Approved) when lubing up your water filter gaskets.

Don't forget to lube up the lube up the rubber gasket on your home sediment well water filter with a good Food Grade Grease. Make sure it's NSF-Approved (formerly USDA H-1) so it won't make you sick. I use AMSOIL's X-Treme Synthetic Food-Grade Grease on my nitrile rubber gaskets for a water tight seal and no worry of contamination.
