Meet Frank's stunning modified classic that's evolved from a family car into a street-legal masterpiece over 30 years of ownership. Originally a light blue 1983 model with pinstripes, this car has undergone multiple transformations, each more impressive than the last.
Starting with simple mods like a camshaft and converter from a home garage in Sydenham, the build progressed to a 355 engine that made 565 horsepower - impressive for its time. After earning an "encouragement award" at Summernats, Frank took it to the next level with a complete undercarriage restoration, leading to a sedan award in 2009.
The current build features a full-length chassis, custom floor, and a meticulously engineered 427 engine with all the modern goodies - EFI, Haltech ECU, and traction control. Unlike many modern builds pushing 1000+ horsepower through forced induction, Frank's naturally aspirated powerplant delivers smooth, reliable performance while still being seriously quick.
