(6 Jul 2018) QUEEN ELIZABETH AND PRINCE WILLIAM VISIT SCOTTISH CAPITAL
Britain's Queen Elizabeth the Second on Friday (6 JULY 2018) attended an Order of the Thistle service at Edinburgh's St Giles' Cathedral.
The monarch was accompanied by her daughter, the Princess Royal, and her grandson, the Duke of Cambridge.
Hundreds of well-wishers lined the Royal Mile to catch a glimpse of the royals as they entered and exited the cathedral.
The Order recognises men and women who have held public office or who have contributed in a significant way to Scottish life.
It is the highest honour in Scotland and the second highest in the UK, preceded only by the Order of the Garter.
