31st March is round the corner, which means the end of the financial year is almost here. This is an important deadline for investors and taxpayers. Let's go through a list of all the things you must check-off of your list before the financial year ends. Firstly, you need to link your Aadhaar card and your PAN Card. Failure to do will make your PAN inoperative from April 1. Second, you must name a nominee for your mutual funds account. If you fail to do so, you will not be able to redeem your funds from that account. Next, you can pay advance tax for 2022-23 before the end of the month. Post April 1, an interest of 1% per month will be charged on the amount till you file your ITR. You can also claim deductions under Section 80C of the Income Tax Act up to Rs 1,50,000 till 31stMarch under the old tax regime. It is also necessary to submit the updated ITR for FY19-20 as it cannot be done post 31st March. Lastly, if you've recently switched jobs, you must submit Form 12B so that the salary from your previous employer can be included for tax calculation purposes this year.
