It made headlines all over when it was announced Doctor Strange 2 was undergoing significant reshoots.
There has been wild speculation from fans that it means the film is in trouble, though this is not always the case.
Some reports have said the reshoots are to accommodate a plethora of extra cameos, from the likes of Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart.
Now, Doctor Strange himself, Benedict Cumberbatch, has given a reason for the extensive reshoots.
He explained that the reshoots were to address areas they thought they could improve on, that couldn’t be done on the day due to COVID:
"We're working incredibly hard to make a schedule work to realise the full potential of the film”
He continued: “bits that we want to do better but also bits that were just impossible to do on the day because of logistics, COVID etc."
It seems the film may be in a more stable position than previously speculated, which is good news for multiverse fans.
