One of the main complaints about Crossplane was its performance. With hundreds or even thousands of CRDs created when installing providers, Kubernetes might slow down or even crash. That's fixed now with "big" providers like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud (GCP) being split into smaller providers with fewer CRDs and grouped into provider families.
