Mumbai has unveiled India’s first-ever musical road, inaugurated on Wednesday by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Located on the Coastal Road, the unique stretch allows drivers travelling from Nariman Point towards Worli to experience music while driving.

Specially designed grooves on the road play the tune of ‘Jai Ho’ from the Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire when vehicles pass over them at a specific speed. Similar musical roads exist in countries like Japan and Dubai, but this is the first such installation in India and the fifth in the world.
