CAD forex pairs have been showing signs of turning lately with the loonie starting to recover from its big oil driven declines of the last year. This week could be particularly active for CAD with a number of major Canadian events.

This includes a Federal Election which could end in a minority government, a Bank of Canada interest rate decision and economic figures that could indicate how much pressure the central bank is under to cut interest rates at future meetings.

China GDP data kicks the trading week off while corporate earnings are also likely to be in focus this week, with a number of the biggest companies in technology, industrials and other sectors scheduled to report results.
