Hey YouTube , this video is on the request of Gabriel McDowell.
Here's how you can use the GPS on the Amazfit Pace.
The GPS on this watch is pretty accurate, better than what I have seen on some phones. To use it, make sure you are out doors,
it clearly is not capable of acquiring a GPS signal when indoors.
in the sports menu, choose the type of workout you want to do. I am going to have a quick walk now, so I select walk. Now wait for the watch to acquire a GPS signal,
this will take a few seconds, but don’t skip this. If it fails to acquire the signal, retry. Once the GPS triangulation is locked, you are ready to start your workout.
It’s a bright sunny day here in the UK, so I will catch up with you after my walk in a few mins.
About 11 mins later
swiping left automatically pauses the workout, then hit the stop button to end the workout. there is a summary of your workout shown along with a GPS plotting on the side.
This is the squiggly thing that Gabriel was talking about on his comments.
The watch does not have a map integration. In my experience with this watch for the past month or so, it is not very good at constant communications
with the phone to stream map data onto it. so the only way you can overlay this plotting onto a map is to sync the watch with the phone.
It syncs automatically at regular intervals, but I tend to do adhoc syncing by opening the Amazfit app on my phone and hit the sync button.
As I have mentioned in my previous videos, the biggest element failing this awesome product is its phone app. This app does not offer much for now,
but things can easily change with an update. Fortunately for now, the Amazfit Pace app has a collaboration with Strava, which is a third party workout recording app.
Let’s use it now.
Head over to 'Activity sync' which is the first item on the menu, this opens the gateway to Strava. If you don’t have an account, create one.
Since I have one already, I am just going to hit Data sync. this will feed the watch's workout data to the Strava database.
Now tap on your username at the bottom left, opens the Strava application on your phone and Vola, your GPS plotting is overlayed on a geographic map.
I am really impressed with the accuracy of the GPS on this watch. I walked this path intentionally. When walking up the street,
I walked on the left side of the road and when returning, I crossed the road and walked on the other side.
these two paths I took were not more than 4 meters apart from each other. And you can see this on the map. It is very cool that the watch picks this up.
The application gathers other information as well. We have an elevation graph, a Pace graph, your heart rate analysis, and a couple of premium analysis information.
The app stores your workout history.
your watch stores your activity history too. to view this, head over to the 'sports' menu, scroll down to activities. here you will see the summary of all
your workouts and also the individual sessions with a lot of detailed information.
you have been updated. Thanks for watching, take care.
