Almost unheard of for a college band in the 1930's, Les Brown And His Duke Blue Devils snagged a recording contract with DECCA Records. Beginning in 1937, this band made up of college students from Duke University began recording some very danceable sides for the label. Within a year, the band had broken up with a majority of it's members returning to their university studies while their leader headed for New York City to form what would eventually become the Band Of Renown. Enjoy this fabulous version of "Ramona" from March 18th, 1937. DECCA Records No. 1296 B.
