For the past 10 years, Nancy and I have vacationed up at New York’s Finger Lakes. This spring we got to spend an afternoon with one of America’s greatest representational painters.

Gillian Pederson-Krag is a superb painter of still lifestyles and figures, and her connection with landscape and nature is profound. She took us for a walk in Robert Treman State Park, where she has often painted. As we look at her art and the natural beauty that surrounds her, I asked her some questions about her life and work.
